quick question about the nord modular g1
i'm looking to get a nord modular (kybd version) to use with my live setup and i'm curious as to wether it will load patches from my nord lead 1. i'm assuming that i will have to build a patch that emulates the structure of the nl1, but after that, i should be able to dump my sounds and go from there right?

no, it will not.divineaudio wrote:i'm curious as to wether it will load patches from my nord lead 1.
yes, after building the patch, you would be able to dump more than 500 patches to your NM, depend on the patch complexity. luckily, there are many NL2 patches emulation for the NM, but not the performance mode which is where some of the NL biggest sounds came fromdivineaudio wrote:i'm assuming that i will have to build a patch that emulates the structure of the nl1, but after that, i should be able to dump my sounds and go from there right?

Something I'm wondering for a long time now: Are the oscillators and the filters of the NM (G2) and the NL(2) the same or are they different circuits from the same company. Since NL2 racks are quite cheap now secondhands, does it justify a purchase -already owing a Modular- or will I get two synths wich sound the same (on a basic level).

My G2 has lots of sounds with NL2 and NL3 in the name, and these probably sound somewhat similar to their namesakes, but I doubt the coding for the oscillators/filters is the same as these are completely separate instruments.JugJug wrote:Something I'm wondering for a long time now: Are the oscillators and the filters of the NM (G2) and the NL(2) the same or are they different circuits from the same company. i think the g2 modular has more in common with the newer nords like the nord lead2x and nord lead 3. just based on years these synths were produced.
