After 20 years the filter chips really need to be calibrated. I've attempted to follow the instructions at the emulator archive but it seems that my Emax must be running a different OS. The instructions get me to a screen asking for a diagnostic code, which I don't have.

I know this is a long shot, but anybody know what I need to do or have a suggestion?

your diagnostic code should be whatever EMAX would be if you punched in via telephone pads...3629

i dont know, i thought emu was a really fun company. manuals are full of odd humor, bizarre easter eggs in their gear, so forth.

with a roland synth, it would have asked for a code that was not in the manual and unknown to roland support staff. then it would have turned out that there was no need to use the code if you held down the F key when you hit enter

E-mu is fun. I love the Bird Run function on my E-Max.
