Roland Sh-2 is out of tune!

Post by aciddance » Sun Sep 16, 2007 1:45 am

Chao, i've got a little trouble with amazing SH-2, it's gettin' out of tune (lower F is higher than upper F.... ) So i'm wonderin' is there any easy way to fix it (maybe some hidden screw mounts or kind of pots under the cover?)
Thanks for any help in advance!

I belive there are tune pots behind those rubber covers under the VCO knobs.

You're right! Thanks a lot!

But after spending so much time playing with trim pots i still can't get a satisfactory tuning. So two things i really want to know now

What is the algorithm of tuning procedure?

Is it the same for all analog synths?

There're 3 pots and it's written near every pot what's it good for ->

 RANGE WIDTH  FREQUENCY ADJUST  VCO WIDTH

I'm pretty sure second pot is just like TUNE knob, changes the pitch of all notes, but have no idea how other two work... All ideas are welcome!

As soon as I've got something like a life, I come back to you on this.

Let it be known that tuning a synth is more that twisting a trimpot with a screwdriver.
