Hey; everyone that owns a Matrix 1000...

I just got this synth, and am trying to get to know it, but there is some very weird mojo with this synth that is really frustrating me. Are these common issues...or WTF? I have a black model BTW.

1) It can't handle sequencer controlled AND MIDI controlled commands at the same time, or various conflicts of this sort..causing it to freeze. I have a dual client MIDI driver so that isn't the issue.

2) Will freeze if you change a value (I have Midiquest editor) too much. This has happened when I mess with the envs.

3) Will freeze if you do ANYTHING with the hardwired ENV 1 modulation. Tends to freeze if you mess around too much with the hardwired matrix.

4) Sometimes experiences bizarre "dead note" type behavior. For instance, I will play a note and 1 minute later, all of the sudden that note won't play, and it will be another note that is "dead". 1 minute later it will be another. Most of the time its fine. This might be an issue with the pitch to keyboard modulation.

5) The power supply "hums". Like as in, vibrates. Its not too major but...WTF?

6) Finally, how the h**l do you control the unison detune? Yes I have RTFM.

Thanks to whomever can give some thoughts...

editing a matrix1000 is not exactly a real-time deal. the control processor is dead-slow. i wouldn't expect good CC control from it.
also the EG you speak of doesn't respond to MIDI/Sysex, a holdover from cutting it down from a matrix6, iirc.

most of what you describe is well-documented online - i researched this issue about a month ago. matrixed, matrix2001 and either analogue heaven, analog haven or kss had some threads about the very issues you speak.

Yup, normal behavior

same problem as above

Starting to see a pattern here?
4) Sometimes experiences bizarre "dead note" type behavior. That does not sound right, I dont know how it handled note priority but mine did not have that issue.
5) The power supply "hums". Like as in, vibrates. Its not too major but...WTF?
Again, common issue. No fix that i could find.

As for realtime control, using the assignable and fixed cc's as mod sources did work without stuttering but having to assign them for each patch was a pain
