Hello, I'm new to whole Synth world, but am excited to get into it. I just got a used EMU Mo'Phatt with a Behringer 49 key controller.
I'm having a problem where I set my keyboard to MIDI channel 2 to control an arpeggiator (while my beats are running on channel 1). If I press on a key at high velocity - hard, it seems to kick my keyboard back to channel 1, controlling the beats and no longer the arpeggiator. I can't figure out if my keyboard is setup wrong, or if my synth is doing this.
To get out, i have to tell my keyboard to go back to channel 2, and then hit the notes off control.
Any ideas anyone?
thanks, Stuba

Does the controller actually indicate it's going to another channel?
If not, you might be running into one of those cryptic 'beats mode' things the E-mu gear has. I have and have had a bunch of the things and I never quite puzzled that out. I can't recall if the MoPhatt has that mode or not. My MP-7 had the module from the MoPhatt and has the beats mode (or is it super beats mode?).
In case you dont have a manual for your Mophatt, you can get it and lots of other useful stuff from here:

Hopefully something there might help you puzzle it out. If it's not related to the MoPhatt's operating modes, then perhaps there's an issue with your controller. It ought not change channels when you play it.
Good luck,

Thanks for your help. I think the problem is with my controller. It seems to be glitching out on me. I'm bringing it back to the store today to get a different one.
the Mo-Phatt has the superbeats mode, and that's what I'm working with. However, I don't think the problem's with the Synth.
thanks again,
Stuart
