Just got this back from the shop-the grounding cable (connecting upper/lower boards) was resoldered, along the with resistor it was connected to, and a new battery was installed (there was never any damage from the original one).
Checked it out at the shop-all working good, brought it home and played it ... fine. The the problem started:
Basically, I start playing for maybe 15 mins and all the voices cut out-they come back, but not automatically. I started fiddling with the filter knob, and it seems to be linked to that i.e. if the filter is turned up all the way, the voices cut out. If you bring it back down, they come back...
Then I turned it on again today. Worked fine, even saved a few patches. Then, after about 15 mins, same thing as before, except now, everything cuts out entirely. The filter has no effect, and there's no sound at all.
Could this be due to overheating somehow? The fact that it works fine, and then cuts out after a bit makes me thinking heating may be an issue...
(on a side note, the tech, thinking the original p6 battery was rechargable, replaced it with a new non-rechargable one, but apparently put a diode in to block the charging circuit.)
