Radiohead synths, i need your help!

Post by Juggernaut » Sat Dec 22, 2007 12:39 pm

Hi everybody, I'm from italian radiohead website.

I need your help.
I can't recognize the synths played by Thom Yorke and/or Jonny Greenwood in these pics:

unknown synth

3 unknown synths

3 unknown synths on the background (maybe the one on the bottom shelf could be a Sequential Circuits Prophet 5)

Can you name these synths?
Thank you, guys!
N.

Hi Juggernaut,

usually these sort of posts are made on general or whatever the main forum is called. but i can see why you might be confused.

anyways pic 2 looks like a nord modular g2, roland sh101 and an arp (2600? im not sure, the casing looks unlike other 2600 pics ive seen before)

in pic 3 the top right hand board looks like an ms20.

those are all nice synths, i wish they were featured more prominently in in rainbows

oh thanks, synapsecollapse, you've been very helpful!

so, now the yet missing synths are the one in pic 1 and the top left in the pic 3!

about "in rainbows": yes, there are few tracks which feature synths: "all i need", "house of cards", "up on the ladder", "mk2", "bodysnatchers", "15 step"). i guess they wanted to record something more acoustic/strings driven... but i hope their electro-krautrock-ish heart still beats...

Actually the Nord looks like a Lead 3 rather than a G2, and that's an MS-10 rather than a 20. The bottom one does look like a Prophet, I'm sure someone will tell you exactly what rev soon. :)

Rev 3. 8)

The 3rd pic, top left, synth looks like the older edition Roland RS-09 stringer. Note the use of white/grey rocker switches and the F-C keyboard with lack of mod controls.
