I have for the longest time been trying to figure out how to make a decent Psy Trance bassline, but I can never get the bassline to sound punchy enough.

I've heard people using the steinburg bass guitar emulation vst for it, but I tried it in live, and the whole thing just wigged out on me (is it me or does Live hate old vsts?)

So how else can you get a good psy trance bassline? Its the only thing I cannot figure out how to do when it comes ot Psy Trance.

You mean those gated rapid-fire 16th note basslines, not acid octave style ones or sub-bass, right? Make sure you have two envelopes, one for filter and amp. Make the filter decay faster than amp decay and give it a pretty good amount of filter envelope amount. Virtually no attack or release time on either.
The snappiest analog I have is the SCI Pro~One, but that actually might be too snappy. You need a sound source that doesn't thin out as it cutoff opens too, so square waves tend to work better than saws. Use alot less filter modulation with saw waves.

Thats exactly what im talking about. I'll have to try that. My JP 8000 should have no problem with that since the attack is so incredibly fast on it.

That was my other problem was getting the attack right on my synths, most of them have slow envelopes it seems.
