MIDI/Sequencer problem (Rogue,MCV4,BassStation,ER-1,MMT8)

Post by Kalu » Thu Feb 28, 2008 7:50 am

I'm new into hardware MIDI-sequencing.

When playbacking a sequence, my Moog Rogue changes the note. When I play it alone, the note is right. When I play it via Novation, the note is right. But when the Alesis plays a sequence, the Doepfer/Moog change C to F (for example) while Novation is playing C as C like it was when recorded.

Sorry my bad english.. Hope you understand???

Current setup:
Alesis MMT8, MIDI OUT>MIDI IN Korg Electribe ER-1, MIDI THRU>MIDI IN Deopfer MCV4 (Rogue),MIDI THRU>MIDI IN Novation BassStation keyboard, MIDI OUT>MIDI IN Alesis MMT8.

Is this ok like this? Should I change something?

I would look at the transpose settings or the scaling of the doepfer and make sure it is correct for the moog

try connecting the midi out of the Bass station to the doepfer and see if it works correctly, if it does, the problem lays in the MMT-8 somewhere. Look for anything that relates to transpose in the manual

Thanks for your answers!

When connecting midi from bass station to doepfer/moog, the moog plays wrong note when playing bass station.

So the problem's in the Doepfer?

OK, it works by transposing the Moog-track to desired note on MMT8.

Simple.

Me, stupid.

I would focus on that, since it is the solution. transposing the MMt is only the fix :)
