tr-707 blues

Post by monolith » Wed Apr 09, 2008 1:29 am

hi,
I've acquired a tr-707 from an american friend who lent it to me with a US power adapter. i went and got a power adapter (12v centre negatve, 400Ma regulated) and it doesnt seem to switch on. there was a very brief second of light from one of the red LED's but that was it... apparently it works though. he's gone travelling so i'm asking:
a) did i just screw it?
b) being from the US, does it require a voltage transformer or something lke that?
c) am i missing something obvious?

cheers. :?

The 707 requires 12V AC to work not 12V DC.

yeah, the adapter im using is DC. It could possibly be the adapter, i have no other 12V equipment to test it with, but i've left the adapter plugged into the wall for about 45 mins now, and its not warmed up at all, like they usuallly do, im gonna step out now and exchange this one..
thanks for the reply

Some of the labels are weird on adaptors.

Just make sure the output says AC, I've seen some labelled as AC, with a DC Output.

AKA Mr. Fingers, ...right?

The notes go: A, E, and then another A but an octave above the first one.
