Kawai 100p - Fix and Tune

Hello,

I bought it as a broken for silly money, but it turned out that some presets actually work. I dismantled it, fixed side panels and keyboard, and put new fuses, and that’s as far as my skills in applied electronics could go. It got slightly better, but still more than half of the presets don’t work, or they just make this quiet cracking noises. I am new at this forum, and I only got hooked on synthesizers about a year ago, and that’s my first real analog (beside Bass Station). Anyone – do you have any experience with fixing this synth? I can describe a detailed problem but I guess its better if first somebody replies who actually got into guts of this on. I also got schematics and manual if needed, but schematics is like a different planet language…

Regards,
X.

PS: It’s the same model as Teisco 100p

Hello

Which presets aren't working?

Could be a few things, like a bad diode, bad voltage or defective transistor(s).

The schematics are floating around the Net. Maybe if you can have a friend to test them out for you...

Hope that helps
