MKS80 queries

Post by DJ Axon » Wed Sep 17, 2008 10:12 am

Hi,

I've just got an MKS80 and wondered if any owners could tell me if the following are faults (it was sold to me as 100% working)

There's no backlight - should there be? (manual doesn't mention backlight)
The output level switch doesn't seem to do anything (i'm using the XLR outs) -does this only work for the 1/4" outs?

cheers

Dan

There should be a backlight but it's not bright like a modern one. You should be able to read the screen in a dark room though.
The level switches are just for the jack outs I think.

There is a backlight but they fade over time. It's pretty easy to replace though if you know how to solder. I need to do mine, as it's quite dim. I replaced the backlight in my D-550 last spring and it's bright now.
