roland sh 201 + tr 505 midi help?!

Post by georgeisme » Wed Sep 17, 2008 1:32 pm

hey, not sure if it's me being stupid, i'm trying to get my tr 505 to trigger my sh 201 and vice versa through midi.
checked the manuals got a midi from one to the other, but they don't seem to be triggering. any help? could it be that the drum machine needs to be seperately plugged in to an amp?
cheers, george

Yes, that's exactly what it is. Midi is not audio. Have a read of this:

MIDI IS NOT AUDIO! should be printed on the first page of every synth manual given how many people don't know that.
