Sorry if this has been covered before, the search came up with too many results..
I just got back an old synth of mine after about a twelve year separation. I was hoping to fire it up and see some familiar names of patches, but for some reason the memory has been wiped clean. I know that the guy that had the synth over the years would have never tried any programming etc... the battery was obviously dead, and I'm wondering if this could be the cause of the data loss.
Also this is an M1 with the +Plus1 option, and the plus1 card is missing. Would the fact that the card is gone effect the internal sounds? Can someone please shed some light on this for me... do you think there's any chance of recovering the old data?? Thanks for your time.... Eric P.

Re: Korg M1+1 help
The battery lasts about 5-10 years. So when the battery dies, the memory is wiped clean. The battery is there to back-up the memory.
You have to change the battery and reupload via midi the factory patches. You can find them here: http://www.geocities.com/tlittle72/
Scroll down the page, you have plenty of info, especially on how to change the battery. And you can find the Plus1 contents on the web too. I saw that somewhere (maybe Google will help to find it).
