Jupiter 6 envelope problem

For some reason, envelope 2 on my Jupiter 6 is acting strangely. When the release setting is between 1 and 4 I get a weird metallic sound when I release a key. The sound is hard to describe but it's almost like a metallic sounding "shnk". Vaguely similar to a higher pitched version of the sound pac-man makes when he eats power pellets. It is not as loud as the synth sound itself, it's much more faint, but it is loud enough to be audible when I record. When the release is set above 4 the sound disappears, and, (as I know is common on analog synths and is not the reason I'm posting this) when the release is set to 0 I hear a slight click. This click is not an issue as I know it's normal and I also don't program too many sounds with 0 release, but the lack of being able to set the release between 1 and 4 is annoying. Is this normal or is there something wrong with my envelope? Setting the attack, decay or sustain to a low number does not cause any strange artifacts, it's only the release setting. As the Jupiter 6 doesn't allow me to route envelope 1 to the VCA I can't test whether or not the other envelope is exhibiting the same issue. Do I just need to suck it up and always have my release set above 4 or is this a fixable problem? I have a guy who has worked on my synths before but it will sit in his shop for weeks until he can even look at it and even that will cost me $$. Any advice or words of wisdom would be appreciated. I also have a smaller issue with my Korg Mono/poly but I'll save that for another day!
