DIN Sync:
My TB-303 has problems keeping the sync cable in its DIN Jack. I have to fandangle it just to keep it in sync and just when I thought I had it, the cable gets touched slightly and I lose sync (I tried different cables -- it is definitely the jack).
Battery contacts:
Although not as bothersome as the DIN Sync issue, whenever the TB is moved around slightly the batteries dont' seem to connect with the contact and sometimes I lose pattern data.
I'm not a DIY kind of guy when it comes to old gear. If anyone can recommend some technician somewhere in the Colorado or surrounding area I would really appreciate it. I have been trying to record some pieces, but TB-303 has been driving me nuts.
Thanks, again.

There is a sticky on top of the Help forum about synth technicians. Maybe there is one in Colorado listed there. If I weren't so overwhelmed, I'd do it for your for dirt cheap.

According to Robin Whittle's site (see "Loose and intermittent sockets") the sync socket can come loose from repetitive stress. It probably just needs to be resoldered more tightly to the circuit board surface.Darren wrote:TB-303 has problems keeping the sync cable in its DIN Jack.
I've seen most x0x Roland gear around that manufacture period have the wires that connect from the battery contact to the circuit board just come clean off in your hand by moving it. Again, it probably needs to be resoldered to the board.Darren wrote:whenever the TB is moved around slightly the batteries dont' seem to connect with the contact and sometimes I lose pattern data
Both are very quick fixes for a tech.
I am no longer in pursuit of vintage synths. The generally absurd inflation from demand versus practical use and maintenance costs is no longer viable. The internet has suffocated and vanquished yet another wonderful hobby. Too bad.

Thanks a lot! I went ahead and requested some estimates, and I hope I can get these issues fixed soon.

Re: TB-303: DIN Sync and battery contacts
u lose data with a 303 when u dont have batteries in it...
other problem could also be this little "knob" in the midi female - there's this knob in the female that activates external sync, the knob is pushed when u jack in a male
