I believe the MAM stuff needs 15VAC and you bought a 15VDC power supply.

yep
Went through the same thing with my SQ16. Should be 12v AC
*edit*
Sure it's 15v? Was under the impression all of their stuff was 12v.

meh, couldn't tell you. Your best bet would be locating a .pdf manual and finding out the correct amperage.

Re: MAM MB33 Power help please!!!!
I just posted in this same forum about needing an adapter for a MAM VF11 vocoder. They DO need an adapter that outputs AC, so make sure you find one of those (not the standard DC output).
My VF11, on the back, says 12v 500mA AC
So here is what I bought:
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... Id=2049687
If yours is 15v, you'll need to find a different one. The voltage needs to match.
The current rating (mA) just needs to be equal or higher.
For example, the VF11 needed 500mA. The adapter I bought is 800mA, so it works fine.

Re: MAM MB33 Power help please!!!!
Just got one myself to fix, well the Freebass FB383 version which looks to be exactly the same unit. Had a look around the circuit and found the unit will work fine with an ac or a dc power unit. Because of the very basic circuit it allows you to use a dc power supply even though its designed for ac. Just use any standard plug in the wall dc supply at about 15 volts dc, make sure the +ve positive is on the outside and the 0v ground is on the middle pin. Opposite way around that most adapters. It has 2 internal power regulators, one for the 5 volt line, one for the 12 volt line. Use a dc supply of about 15 or 16 volts and it will be fine as the regulators will sort it out.
Not very high powered so i would think 1 amp would be plenty. If in doubt use one a bit higher.
Lots of the used MAM and Freebass units have a midi problem where after switching on you get a sound come out, the midi led comes on as it should while its setting itself up but the midi led never goes out... then it never responds to any midi messages.
