Using a moog ring mod with a synths cv? ext input? help

So I just ordered a moogerfooger ring mod and I'm wondering how I can use it with mono synths so that it would function like the mono has built in ring mod?

I guess what I'm wondering is can you send cv out of say an sh-2 or pro one, into the mooger, then audio from the mooger into the ext input of the synth so that it could be filtered and treated like it was an internal part of the synth. Would that make the mooger track the keyboard and would it function as if the synth had ring mod built in? It seems like ring mod works differently from synth to synth.

I saw a demo on youtube but I still don't really get it. I suppose I should wait until the mooger arrives and test it but I'm wondering if anyone has done this? There are plenty of great monos out there but I wish they had ring mod, so i want to try and make it seem like they do.

Anyone know if this is possible and if cv out synths can make mooger rings mods oscillator track?

Thanks!

It has a CV input for the carrier frequency. However, if you expect to get properly tuned and scaled notes to come out, you may be disappointed. That isn't what a ring mod does. From the musical standpoint, it's a chaos generator.

+1.

If you want a ring mod, 'tracking' isn't going to do anything because it doesn't output the actual frequency to begin with, if that makes any sense... (i'm wording that horribly)
