Yamaha TX16W Sampler Issue

I picked up a Yamaha TX16W Sampler from a friend and we found out that it had a problem.

Using the Typhoon OS, whenever I go to take a sample the meter is always showing a maximum input, even when nothing is plugged in. We also couldn't get it to output sound.

The same OS disk worked fine for another that we had there so it is definitely a hardware problem. I opened it up and disconnected the small boards that the sample input come from and the noise was still there.

I appreciate any suggestions.
