Sequential TOM cartridges
Do any of you know where to find samples of the special effects cart for the TOM? I'm considering buying one from wine country but it'd be nice to hear some samples before I shell out cash. I'm particularly interested in what the "orchestra tutti" and "vocals grunt" sound like.
Re: Sequential TOM cartridges
Might just want to ask them if they have any samples available or look through some classic drum machine sample libraries. I'll check what I have archived and get back with you. I had the contemporary cart for mine and it was SUPER dated sounding (cheesy 80's rap type stuff) but this may be good or bad.
The TOM was a fun machine. If you want to get crazy with it, plug in some drum pads (I used a MPD16) and it will override the normal buttons in favor of the pads BUT it will also react to velocity and other parameters. I always liked assigning pitch to the fader on the MPD. Mine had worn tacts so I kinda discovered this by accident but it really breathed new life into the box.

Re: Sequential TOM cartridges
Thanks for the tip. I'll have to try using an MPD with it. I personally love the contemporary cart. As cheesy as they are, the "laser" and "scratch" sounds are awesome.
