I was trying to record my Micromoog, line in into a mixer, and then mixer into a laptop, with Garageband. I noticed that when I hit a key, there was a thin staticy buzz that occured right at the attack of the sound, along with the sound that the synth is making. I can't seem to make it go away. It just lasts for a second or so, and then fades off and the synth sound continues. If I turn the volume off, it goes away, but if I just turn the cuttoff to the point where there is no sound coming out, I can here it.
Any ideas how to fix this stuff?
I also get this click through an amp.
Micromoog problem...

Re: Micromoog problem...
Make sure you adjust the input level in garageband. I assume the mixer is going into the laptop directly (ie: audio input)? I just had someone come to me with an issue just like this a week ago. You have to make sure the levels are not clipping on the mixer side, and you also have to adjust the input in the software otherwise you will get clipping or fuzz. i don't remember off hand where the control was but I think it was on the right side bottom of the program window. You may have to open a different window to see it.
Aside from that, make sure the mixer is good and make sure your cable is good. If you get noise coming through when plugging directly to an amp then it's either your cable or a problem with the Micromoog.

I like vintage synths....
