i was thinking of purchasing a synth from a japanese dealer and i asked him if i would need a converter for u.s. use. he said that it works on 90-130 and is a 2 prong connector that would work in an american outlet. sounds like he knows what he is talking about but just wanted to make sure before purchasing and having something shipped from japan. any help/info would be appreciated.

is it possible that the synths voltage could range from 90-130, which means it could be used in the U.S. at 110v?

From what I understand it should work OK - you just might have to get a pin adapter in case the pins don't physically fit in the US power socket - don't know exactly the Jap dimensions. They are the sort of plug adapters used with shavers and hair dryers that travellers use - inexpensive and compact.

Yes. Most electronic items have internal voltage regulators to cancel out things like mains voltage fluctuations, part tolerance variations etc.
