Can the Machinedrum sequence a synth

Post by supermel74 » Thu Apr 09, 2009 9:10 pm

I skimmed through the manual but it's pretty unclear how the external midi sequencing works. I'm wondering if it is set up to easily sequence a mono synth by playing the 16 step keys pitched like on an Electribe or similar machine.

You can make 16 3-note poly miditracks on it. So yeah!

To setup the 16 keys on it would be achievable but you have to use one machine per key... So it would be stupid... Parameter locking each step is the way!

Okay. It's not a make or break thing for me, I was just wondering if it could be set up to sequence a bassline on an external synth if needed. Thanks.

Yepp, without any problems. Just sequence it step-by-step and you can run 16 synths from the MD.

Plus you can use the parameter locks on any cc's of your choice.

It just isn't as simple as an Electribe. But as the others have stated, step sequencing with parameter locks and CCs makes up for the effort you have to put in.

I'm working on an MDUW/Blofeld set now which I hope will be absolutely killer. Those two synths are a great combo
