I have disassembled some keys frome my poly-61 and I noticed that conductive material is separating from rubber membrane and this cause contact problems (dead keys).
I'm thinkig of buying ultra-thin copper strips, cut and glue them on the rubber membrane.
Do you have any other suggestions how to fix this c**p?

LA Synth Co now sells replacement contact strips for several old synths of this era. Very nice, very easy. Worked great for my Mono/Poly (which uses the same type of keybed as the Polysix...I can't speak for the Poly-61).

Poly61 also uses this keyboard.

Sometimes dust and debris gets in there.
Sometimes the membrane strip is slightly out of position.
A graphite pencil works in a pinch, but is not a long term fix like replacing the membranes.
The original conductive pads have a very specific ohms resistance. Anything with ohms too low, like copper films or silver conductive pens, will cause key-on bouncing. That's a nasty double-triggering/stuttering of notes.

This is the best long term option.chipaudette wrote:LA Synth Co now sells replacement contact strips for several old synths of this era. Very nice, very easy.

Have a word with Bob at Sounddoctorin - he sells kits made up of tiny carbon loaded pucks for repairing this style of keyboard. The same type of contacts are also found in the Juno 6/60/106 series and can be troublesome.
