The subject pretty much says it all. If you know where I can go or what I can do to upgrade the ROM on my TX802 to v1.5, I'd sure appreaciate the help. I've already tried contacting Yamaha. They simply say it's out of support.

How can you tell what version is in the TX802 now?
EDIT: I found out how. Holding down Utility, 8, and 9 while turning the unit on shows the firmware version.
Mine has the 1.1 ROM, so I don't have 1.5 either. If I did, I could perhaps dig up an EPROM burner and make a copy for you, but mine is "old" too...
EDIT #2: This website shows it:
http://www.wdgreenhill.com/manu/yamaha_s_5.htm The part number is XB224007 according to one site, but this site also lists XB22407D for the 1.5 EPROM. Maybe getting in touch with these guys will get you the part you need.

Try the Yamaha Black Boxes forum:
http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/yamahablackboxes/
Some of the members there burn their own ROMS and for other people for a nominal price. Someone may have a v1.5 ROM they can copy for you.
By the way, what does the v1.5 ROM have extra? My band has a TX802 - I should see what has in it.
Cheers, Graham

If its anything like the TX81z, Find the .BIN file of the firmware Flash, And if your skilled enough yourself. Flash the EPROM.
If you feel uncomfortable doing this, i'm sure you could find a local computer technician who could point you in the right direction. This is Old technology, more commonly used with the 386-486 CPU area.

Goes right back to the seventies in fact.

Just search around for a technician who's capable of Burning/Flashing EPROM's. The Firmware .BIN should be easy to obtain, with a little bit of time & Google searching
