hi i got a used v synth, but the osc1 LFO Rate and Level knob is not very responsive. And when i turn the LFO DP3 knob, the Level moves "a bit" when i see the LCD screen. (so I got extra discounts for it.)
Not very big deal as I can edit thems using the buttons and touchscreen, but I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to fix the knobs?
any help is greatly appreciated
Also, if I get a PCMCIA-multicard reader adaptor, can I use MMC/MemoryStick for the V synth?
any v synth owners here?

Not really sure about the knobs, it really depends on what's causing the problem and it could be a number of things. You can use the PCMCIA adaptor though, I use one with a CF card on mine.

Re: any v synth owners here?
The V-Synth is a great synth and they are going for penuts thesedays, future classic for sure. Congratulations on getting one. Have you done a Factory Reset? Always the first thing to try if there's a problem, go to "MODE" > "SYSTEM" > "FACTORY RESET". It could be a calibration issue or the pots may be on the way out and need replacing, let me know how you get on if you decide to get it repaired. Mine needs some of the front panel buttons replacing, I think they are fairly fragile and I suspect the original owner whacked them a bit hard. As Stab Frenzy said, use a Compact Flash card in a PCMCIA to CF adapter, these are available on eBay for cheap. Though if you just want to transfer data I find the USB interface works fine.
PS; Stab why no V in your sig?

All the knobs are fine on mine (thankfully), but the transparent buttons with the orange LEDs are a nightmare - it seems they cut corners with these as they feel cheap and aren't very responsive. The knobs, however, feel rather solid and seem quite robust.
I suppose contacting Roland would be your best bet though. Don't know if contact cleaner is gonna help with this one.

Putting a list of synths in your sig is for j**k, real men either have obscure jokes or a list of delay pedals, or both.Hybrid88 wrote:PS; Stab why no V in your sig?

Yeah, the buttons on my V-Synth are also a bit troublesome. I was actually considering having it in for repair.OriginalJambo wrote:All the knobs are fine on mine (thankfully), but the transparent buttons with the orange LEDs are a nightmare - it seems they cut corners with these as they feel cheap and aren't very responsive. Yes same here, wonder how it would be repair-wise I'd guess the circuit board would be quite highly populated with SMD's and miniture chips etc, how would a repairer go soldering the buttons? Never even seen the inside of a V-synth, just getting a service manual wouldn't be too easy either I reckon (I tried once from Roland Aus, no response).Yeah, the buttons on my V-Synth are also a bit troublesome.
