roland jx - 3p user patch memory problems

Post by montekk » Thu Jul 23, 2009 1:06 pm

I just bought Roland JX - 3P and have some problem. I design my own patches with buttons on synth panel and write to memory (C or D bank) like written in roland manual. All my patches are in memory while synth power on but after swiching off roland memory disappears all my programmed patches. I can play only factory patches and some pathes in C,D banks which were in memory before my programming. Could you explain me problem?

It's best to unplug the synth.....Test the battery (around 3v)...Look for any leakage or bad connections.

Yeah dead battery.. most likely cause. On the JX-3P it's not a button battery but a diff looking one (IIRC) so may need to custom fit a new battery with some wiring. Not a hard job really.

I posted some internal pics of a jx-3p in another thread of mine if you want to take a look at the battery location.

The battery is the yellow thing in the middle of the PCB on this pic. It's soldered on. It should be possible to desolder this and solder on a button style battery holder in it's place.
