knobs problem

Post by zzzxtreme » Fri Jul 31, 2009 3:58 am

hi my vsynth knobs has some weird problems. i asked in rolandclan forum, but there was no reply. hopefully, anyone with similar problems on vsynth OR other keyboards can enlighten me.

some knobs 'move' by itself.

cosm2 cuttoff knob > if i press it to the left, the value stays. if i release, the value increases continously bit by bit. physically it doesnt move, but the cuffoff value on the screen says so.

some knobs often jumps to a specific value by itself

one knob causes the other knob to change value

im just wondering, if this could be fixed by cleaning possible dusts off it? or just a simple change of the knob component (potentiometer)?

might be a bad pot but it sounds more like drift in an A/D that reads the pot. About 30% of the JD800's made did this with no fix but trying to replace a micro controller that had a crappy A/D built in.
Call Roland's service department.
