opening up a desktop evolver

Post by code green » Mon Dec 28, 2009 5:37 am

got some screws or some such rattling around inside mine...so planning to go inside and fish them out before they cause a short. but before i do this figured i'd check to see if anyone has words of advice or caution about the d-evo's insides. i'm assuming it's pretty straightforward but wouldn't want to inadvertently turn the most minor of fixups into a real repair job.

They're easy to open up, to upgrade the OS DSI send you a chip and instructions on how to open it up and replace it. IIRC it's just a case of take out the screws and then open it up, although you might have to take off the knobs as well, can't remember if that was just from when I opened the MEK. You'll figure it out pretty quickly though. :)

Flip it over, unscrew the screws, pull the bottom plate off.

cool, thanks...figured as much. just that there's some gear that is as simple as it seems it will be...and other gear where it all kind of pops out and there're 75 screws and the flanged parts don't fit back in anywhere and you're like, "uh..."

glad to hear it's the former. thanks again!
