synth stands for desktop

Post by rharris07 » Wed Dec 30, 2009 1:12 am

anyone know of any websites that sell more than just the generic keyboard/synth stands you find at sweetwater, guitar center, etc. ?

what i am really trying to find a is a two tiered stand that is for a desk. i know that might sound weird, but i want something that will prop up the keyboard on the desk, plus have a second level to put a synth on top. i just don't know if this exists or who might make it.

i've looked all over online and just keep coming across the same stands over and over.

anyone have any ideas? have anything like this? i'm completely out of room for my synths, and have absolutely no floor room for floor stands...so i must build up from the desk.

thanks for any help at all...

not sure about a two tiered stand like that, but if you don't mind one being on the desktop & the other above it, there are a lot of laptop stands that work. i use raindesign mstands.

I know this isn't what you're asking for, but I have two keyboards on my desktop "tiered". I put one keyboard on the desktop and then I put a simple X stand between the desk and the wall - I put the X stand at a high level setting so it's like a tier that hovers above the desk (and the bottom keyboard)

thats what I used to do too, and if the stand is braced well you can add another tier and it'll be way out over yr desk then!
or just try heaps of x-stands until you find one that can be locked in really low and put it on yr desk.
or build stuff.

I used to double-stack my Junos on piles of books back in the day...

Quiklok now make a small, dektop/keyboard-top X stand. I saw it browsing their catalogue a few weeks ago but can't recall the part number. Looked like a few inches each way.

I recently built a mixer stand from old shelving to angle it and leave more desk space - and I've seen plenty of people modding Ikea furniture. I'm using one of their Rast tables to house a modular, and I've seen mention of some shelf brackets that can be used to provide a base for things.
