I want to use my Akai S3000 sampler with my PC, so I can copy samples from PC onto the Sampler via SCSI.

From what I gather it can be done with a SCSI card & SCSI HDD in the pc, and a cable connecting the card to the sampler.

Is this correct? I had a quick look around apparantly you can use an Adaptec SCSI 2920 or 2940. I have found both for sale, but I couldnt find a 50pin HDD anywhere for the 2920.

The 2940 seems to have 68pin external connector, how would this connect to the AKAI 25pin connector?

The connector does not matter, just get a 68pin to 50pin cable. The beautiful thing about SCSI is that it is 100% backwards compatible. I have the 2940 (under win7 64bit btw, got to love windows) running with an Yamaha A3000 (50 pin narrow) with a internal LVD drive and a SCSI CDROM all connected with different cables and it works fine. If you are not familiar with SCSI, prepare to do some reading on how to terminate everythin
