Greetings,
I got an EPS 16+ which runs fine except it occasionally gives an Error 144 message. Judging by my research this is extremely common in EPS 16+s and often stems from overheating issues caused by poor heat dissipation on the power supply. I'm thinking about installing a small computer fan inside the case (if I can squeeze it in) and perhaps drilling a few properly placed ventilation holes for the air to circulate. Are there any Ensoniq users who have done this before? Did it help? Ancient Ensoniq usergroups seem to say that a bigger heat sink won't help. Thanks for reading.

Re: EPS 16+ Error 144 and Solving Overheating Issues
I have done this, mounted a small fan internally with a switch on the rear. In truth it seems only needed if the weather is hot or at a hot gig. Sure under these conditions the EPS16 feels to get quite hot at the heat sink and when I switch the fan on a bolt of hot air comes out. Leaving it on for 15 mins tends to cool the thing down, I put it there as a precaution knowing how hot it gan get.

i have heard good things about this:

also, the voltage regulators are put on the heat-sink with cheap cardboard(?) insulators. Loosen the regulators and replace the insulators with new silicone ones and use heat-sink paste.
