MS2000B Expression Pedal assignment question

Post by billgrahammusic » Tue Feb 09, 2010 11:37 pm

Hi, I've been a lurker here for some time, but this is my first post. I want to know if you can use an expression pedal to control things other than just volume. I want to set it to the filter cutoff. If I could assign EG parameters to it I would be very happy.

thanks,
Bill Graham

Doesn't seem possible, at least for the MS2000/R, according to the owner's manual. I dunno about the B though.

Can't you set expression pedal to be either the MIDI1 or MIDI1 mod source and then use the virtual patch cords to assign it to something?

edit: OK, had a look at the manual. Go to Global page 6, assign the pedal to Footpdl (CC#4) then go to Global page 3 and assign either D:MIDI1 or E:MIDI2 (depending on if you're already using one of them for something) to CC#4. You can now use whichever one you've changed to CC#4 as a virtual patch source and send it to the filter cutoff or whatever you want. :thumbleft:
