Alpha Juno Aftertouch

I have recently discovered a way to control the filter of my Alpha Juno (1) by midi, inside Cubase.

Setting aftertouch to control the filter cutoff and then using the aftertouch control change lane.

But i have noticed something strange so was hoping other Juno owners could help me work out if it is indeed wrong or perhaps all AJ1 are the same?

So basically if i set my Junos filter to be controlled by Aftertouch, maximum amount.
You'd think this would allow it to go from fully closed to fully open? Mine doesnt. :(
At full aftertouch the filter only seems to open around 75%

So can anyone tell me if this is normal? Or does my Juno need some calibration?

Pretty sure that's normal.

There's a great editor for the Alpha Juno that can be loaded as a VST within your DAW, and this way you can automate all the parameters.

Thanks!

Those editors look amazing. If the Alpha Juno one works this could change my mind on several synth purchases :)

Hmmm so aftertouch as a control source was never meant to control all the way from 1 to 127. At least i know my Juno is not broken

Hmm - that doesn't sound right to me. Is there anything actually telling you that you're only getting 75% of your aftertouch response? If not, you're probably going through all 128 levels/steps, but you may just need to adjust the cutoff to compensate - raising it a bit - you may also need to adjust the sustain level on the ENV or the depth of the ENV modulation on the filter in case you've got it pushing the cutoff rather low.
