Minimoog Type D

Post by ciderpirate » Mon Mar 22, 2010 1:14 pm

Hi gents,

What a wonderful website !

This is my first post, I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction, I have a Minimoog Type D, and think that is a pretty rare one, I was wondering if there is a list anywhere of, who owned which synth in the past (Jarre, Wakeman, Emerson...etc), to see if I can find out the history of my synth...?

In advance - thanks very much ;)

Hi nice synth,

This site has a serial number registration with some contact details, but probably too recent for the artists you mentioned. -

Thanks for the quick reply - I checked there already, it's not listed (1271D).

Cheers

If the serial no, is #1271 it should be a "Musonics" Minimoog and those are very rare indeed. Afaik, the Musonics'
were built from mid '71 to early '72 at which time it was being replaced by the more stable 'Moog Music' Minimoog.

I know that Keith Emerson and Mother Mallard's Portable Masterpiece company used Musonics' early on.

There's a customer list at the Moog archive site but it doesn't go further than #1210:
