I play loud in a rock band, with a Moog Voyager, a Roland Juno 60, a DSI Mopho, all running through a Behringer XENYX 802 mixer and a Line 6 DL4 delay, out to a Peavey TKO-65 (for sub) and usually to the PA as well. All that stuff is usually plugged into surge protectors on the same A/C power outlet. I do most of the basslines in the band, and it gets heavy. Sometimes however, I have power problems - last night at rehearsal I was trying to tap tempo on the delay unit and the Roland simply shut off without warning. I turned it on again, and a few minutes later the same thing happened. I've also had similar problems in live settings. What's going on, and how do I fix it?

Sounds like the power supply caps in the Juno are failing, time to have it serviced.

I agree with Stab, it doesn't sound like your problem is line power but rather a problem with the power supply in the Juno. However, I'd get the PA onto a different circuit if at all possible. All of your gear should be fine on the same circuit -- synths really don't draw much power.

If that problem's with just the juno, you should be able to cause the problem without all the other gear on.

Any computer or computer-controled suff (even the Juno) should be on an UPS. You don't need it to power your entire rig for the whole concert, just keep the AC flowing smoothly for the time it takes for somebody to trip over a power cord and plug it back in.

Don't know how much help this will be but I always make sure I have only my stuff plugged into my onw surge protector only. I don't let anyone plug their equipment (or other power strips) into mine and I don't plug anything into theirs.

I almost always bring extra extenstion cords so they won't whine when they can't get power. I just don't like sharing my electricity. There are some valid reasons for this but mostly it's because I have had people turn off their surge protectors when my stuff was plugged into it and I am afraid their stuff may cause a problem with mine.

Ideally, I like ot have two outlets at my disposal and I plug the amp by intself into one of them, figuring it probably draws the most power.

Try isolating your stuff and make sure it is just the Juno. In the meantime, get some more extension cords.
