I built a little analog drum module and it uses a momentary on pushbutton switch.
I would like to automate it.
I got a 5v 1A SPDT relay and hooked it up to the trigger on my TR-606 (the NO and the out).
I can't seem to get ti to work.
I know the DR- 110 outputs a 6v pos. trigger pulse and I assume the 606 is the same so in theory it should work...
What am I doing wrong?
TR-606/110 trigger relay switch?

Re: TR-606/110 trigger relay switch?
The 606 outputs a +14V 20mS pulse. If your drum module is triggered by a positive voltage, use the 606's output with whatever potential divider you need to drop it to your required trig level, and if your module requires a short-to-ground action, I'd use a transistor rather than a relay.

Thank You very much for your reply.
Guess my eyes are bigger than my stomach cuz I don't understand. I'm new.
Back to the drawing board.

Re: TR-606/110 trigger relay switch?
I think I got it. I just used a NPN transistor 2n3904 and fiddled with the connects till I got it. Positive to collector and -to emitter...
Still not sure how it works exactly but at least I'm not any stupider! Thanks!

Re: TR-606/110 trigger relay switch?
I have to take the outside (- ?) wire from the trigger out if I plug the 606 and the module into the same mixer...
I guess the mixer gives it ground?

Re: TR-606/110 trigger relay switch?
Your relay probably didn't work because the coil required more current than the 606 trigger out was capable of supplying. Or, it may have been that the relay couldn't move fast enough for that 20 ms trigger pulse.
I'm not sure I follow your description of what you did with the transistor... can you draw it?

Switches, knobs, buttons, LEDs, LCD screens, monitors, keys, mice, jacks, sockets. Now two joysticks!
Re: TR-606/110 trigger relay switch?
I don't have anything I can draw with on my computer. It's just a little netbook.
I ended up not using the transistor. I ran the positive pulse (the tip) to the side of the button that is not connected to the power.
Then I ran the sleeve (negative? ground?) to ground.
That way I can still activate the button while it is playing from the trigger pulses and it works into the same mixer or a separate source.
I'm not sure why it works but it does.
Maybe the trigger pulse fools it into thinking it has a closed circuit?
I didn't get any farther from understanding so it turned out well.
Thanks for your help.

Re: TR-606/110 trigger relay switch?
I heard a little noise coming from the relay. It was in time with the LEDs.
It was frustrating that something was happening but I still wasn't getting my BOOOMMM...
