CZ-1000: where, on PCB, do battery wires go?

Post by pricklyrobot » Sun Sep 19, 2010 11:56 pm

I was giving my CZ-1000 a once-over—in anticipation of possibly selling it in the near future—and discovered the 4AA battery pack I'd added (for saving the user patches) didn't seem to be working. I checked the batteries and they were still good.

So I opened her up, and it looks like both of the battery wires have come loose from the PCB. Shouldn't be a big deal to solder them back on there. Only problem is, I'm not sure exactly where they go (and I'm not enough of an electronics wiz to suss it out just by staring at the board).

Here's a picture of the entire board in question:

And here's a close up of where I think they might go (black wire to pad marked "BK BAT", and red wire to pad marked "BAT R", maybe?):

Any help is much appreciated.

Maybe you could trace the track from where you think the red wire should be until you come across an Electrolytic cap, which should have it's positive side connecting to the battery trace. - this would tell you that that is indeed the positive lead.

Logically, the other side then has to be the negative.

Just a suggestion, I'm pretty new to this game too :)

I'd say you're right about your guess there though, the pcb marking seem to suggest as much.

Thanks for the reply. I'll take another crack this weekend and try to see what's going on the other side of that board.

Anyone who's successfully pulled apart (and put back together, of course ;) ) a CZ care to confirm or deny anything?

My friend has a CZ-101. Do you reckon having a look inside of that would provide me with my answer, or are there different board inside?
