Contact for Music and More (MAM) : Power Supply Info needed.

Post by expermusic » Wed Nov 17, 2010 1:48 am

I need to get a replacement power supply for a MAM MAP1 arpeggiator. All that I know is that is should be 12V, but I don't know the mA or plug size.

A) Does anyone have this unit and could they tell me what the power requirements are.

B) Does anyone know if there is info/contact for MAM?

I know they were supposed to be restarting as a company but the website still says under construction. Did part of MAM become Vermona?

Thanks for any help!

i haven't had a MAP1 but have a bunch of other MAM gear, will get back to you on the mA but i'm 99% sure their plug size is the same as a standard boss 9v DC adapter.

also this belongs in the help section.

Thanks for getting back to me. If you have a chance to check that, I'd really appreciate it.

The plug size on my MAM rack gear (Warp9 and RS3) is 2.1mm barrel, the same as boss or 1spot or whatever common power plug. I daisy chain both units off of a single Jameco 12V AC power supply using one of the 1spot daisy chains. Not sure what current the Jameco is capable of. You could just grab the biggest 12V AC 2.1mm power supply you can find/afford at a place with a reasonable return policy.

Alesis 9V AC PSUs work fine with MAM gear. That's what I have on the LM122 mixer for about 4 years trouble free.

Well thanks guys. I'm going to try and find an alesis first. So, does the fact that there is a slight difference in mA matter?

with some things it definitely does, others not so much. not sure about MAM gear but know the modFX don't like any power supply but their own...
