Help identifying knob style

Post by supermel74 » Sun Jan 09, 2011 4:13 am

This knob came from an E-mu Xboard midi controller. Trying to identify the shape so I can order some replacements from Mouser.

It is called a D-Shaft "push on" style. Many, many types available from Mouser and others. :)

That's what I had ordered but the knobs that I got from Mouser fit from 1 o'clock to 11 o'clock instead of 7 to 5 as they should. These are the knobs I ordered http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDet ... ey450-4760

D-shaft implies a shaft that looks like a D. This has a =D kinda thing going on, not the same. Although if the pot doesn't have that "=" part then I'd think a D-shaft would work. How annoying though, that's not going to be easy. Did you try to get a service manual?

Also don't be afraid to sand down something that's almost the right fit.

hmm, well you learn something new every day.

In that case I have no idea. Good luck finding a match.

Just thought of something. Maybe this is what "slotted D" shaft means. I've never had to use it so I've never looked it up.
