Ensoniq SQ-80 Question/Problem
Is it normal that in poly mode i wait to trigger a note after the 8th voice's enveloped has closed? In other words after the first 8 voices sound i have to wait for the first voice's envelope to finish before i can trigger another note. My only solution right now is to kill the sustain but this seems incorrect. Thanks!

Re: Ensoniq SQ-80 Question/Problem
The SQ80 should trigger every new note and if out of voices should cut off other voices.
You're holding the sustain pedal down? It's been a few years now since I had an SQ-80 and I can't remember exactly how it behaved in that case.

I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

IIRC, if you are holding the HOLD pedal down, all AMP envelopes will "hold" at the sustain segment and never finish to release that voice for another one. Try programing the 'sustain' into the actual envelope.

i just figured it out! it was an ovfl overflow setting in the midi options that i needed to turn off. i am still struggling with sending it midi data but that probably is also the result of my own ignorance.
