The bass samples used in many many 80s hiphop tracks?

If I remember correctly, there was one particular bassline from an older record that a LOT of 80s hip hop was made using (chopped up and such in many cases.. played straight in many!)

... so if anyone could remeber what it is, I can get straight to the source

Do you mean the bass line in "Good Times" by Chic, used on "Rapper's delight" by Sugarhill Gang?
