Midi mapping question.

Post by basic303 » Sat Jul 09, 2011 4:13 am

So, I've finally narrowed my live set up to three pieces of gear, my Elektron Machinedrum, Doepfer Dark Energy and my Roland JX3P.

What I'd like to be able to do is this.

Have the Elektron able to sequence both the Roland and the Doepfer. I'd imagine this would simply be splitting the midi signal and assigning the doepfer a different channel from the Roland. However, I'd like to also have a midi keyboard sending data to the Doepfer, so this way I could switch between the Doepfer being sequenced and it being played from a keyboard without switching any cables. Also I would like to refrain from using any sort of laptop or computer program, I'd like to keep it entirely hardware.

Is this possible? And if so what would I need?
