As Z said, check the battery, as this holds the programmable patterns in memory.

It should look something similar to this, which will be a N-SB 3.6v, 90 mAh Ni-Cad Cell Battery. They can be bought easily. Try Maplins, Farnell etc.

There should only be ONE battery inside the CR-78.

The inside of that CR-78 (photo) looks to be heavily modified by the looks of it!

Mine also locks up but the battery was fine...I am going to restore mine but i wonder what else could go wrong..?

The battery checked out fine....I need to investigate the real problem after i fix my polivox.
