Roland D5

Post by Genno » Tue Sep 27, 2011 5:15 pm

Just picked up a D5 quite cheap. All seems ok apart from some of the selectors needing a good push or even a prod to select. Any ideas as to how I can sort this? Maybe get the back off and clean them up somehow??
Cheers,
Genno.

Welcome to the board !

Now, some bad news: nearly all modern synths have small "tactile switches" mounted on a circuit board under the buttons. These have a limited life-span and must be replaced when they fail. Several hours of fiddley work and lots of soldering, but very do-able. Maybe not a good first project if you're new at soldering small componets.
Good luck. Let me find a schematic and see if I can offer more help.

Hi Rhino,
Can't believe I've only just seen your post. I didn't get any notification of it to my inbox.
Thanks for your reply anyway. I didn't do anything with the D5 as I picked up a D10, which has now decided to pack up when I really need it! Typical!
Thanks again,
Genno.
