I am looking to hook up my microkorg to my pc. I bought a Midi to usb this one right here I am wondering is this all i need or do i need a special sound card. Also i am trying to figure out, i am new to all this so be kind as this is my first synth. Is their a way to change the pre-sets on my korg. I love the presets it cam with but their are some i would never use and wondering if there is patches online that i could exchange for the factory pre-set. Thanks for all the help.

Sincerely,
Toby Mac

No, no special sound card is needed for that, well aside from a computer with a USB port. Read the instructions that came with the converter cable and download a sysex editor like midiquest. You'll probably want to read the software instructions as well.

You see those knobs all over the synth? Turn them. If you like one, hit "Write" twice. You might even be able to make more with this advice if you read the manual.

Sure, if you can't be bothered to edit the synth your purchased, just google terms like 'Microkorg free patch download'. You'll, of course, need to be able to operate the previously mentioned sysex editor to dump them into the Microkorg.
