JUNO 106 NOT WORKING! HELP!

Post by reckoner421 » Sun Apr 01, 2012 4:02 am

So I plugged my Juno 106 in and nothing works....at all. It's a Japanese model and I live in America, but I thought I would try and plug it in real quick and just try it out to see if it works. Is this why it's not working or do I just have a shitty device? I sure hope it's the former...

(PS, all I hear is static noise when I turn it on)

I've heard 100v synths -can- work in the states for a little bit, but this one might not be working here.

You probably didn't hurt it the first time, but don't try again until you have the right power converter.

Do you think this is probably the issue? I did open the system up for cleaning (the keys were disgusting), but didn't touch any of the motherboards or switches...I simply put all the screws back the way I took them out so I think its highly unlikely that I did anything to it. I'm just praying that it's not a broken unit. Where are some good cheap voltage converters that I could buy at a store tomorrow to test this out? Do they even exist in stores?

Try radio shack. First place I'd go at least.

And nah, there's no danger in opening them for a cleaning.
Just don't mess with trim pots, haha.

If you can tell us the settings you're trying to play, it may help us check if there is any good sound coming from a working 106 with the same settings...

But first, please refrain yourself from doing multiple postings: I just noticed you already asked for advice for the same unit in another post.
