Prophet 08 Voice Trigger Problem

Post by tomorrowstops » Sat Apr 28, 2012 5:20 pm

I was programming some patches on the Prophet 08 and it all of a sudden started to trigger 2 voices for every key stroke, cutting the polyphony in half. I've run the filter/voice calibration routine twice, reset global parameters, and have turned it on and off a few times. I've also popped the hood, unplugged and reseated all cables going to the voice board. Both processors are fully up-to-date (Main 2.3, Voice 1.5). This problem occurs on both user created and factory presets. I've contacted DSI support and am awaiting a reply.

Anybody else run into this problem?

Did you accidentally set it into A/B Stack mode?
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

No, that was the first thing I thought I had done. But your suggestion got me thinking - at the time of the issue, I was playing with layers. I also had the software sound editor on the computer open and connected via midi to the P08. I usually forget that its open and mainly mess around on the hardware. The sound editor is imperfect at best and sometimes has communication issues with the keyboard. That being said, the only thing I hadn't done during my diagnosis, was unplug the midi cables. I did so, and viola - voices trigger as they are supposed to.

Defintiely something to note for the future....
