MFB Kraftzwerg Midi a bust?

The problem: Using the local Midi CV/Gate interface on the Kraftzwerg causes it to randomly freeze on one note until it is power-cycled. No new midi notes have any effect until the restart. Also, this happens just while playing from a keyboard controller transmitting on a single midi channel, not with any multi-timbral activity or sysex.
I tried overriding the local gate with a gate from my Kenton Midi-CV, operating on the same channel, while keeping the local normalized CV. All that does when the Kraftzwerg's glitch occurs is cause the local CV to revert to the stuck note the moment the external gate resets, but at least while the external gate is still high, the local CV changes with the new Midi note. That also only allows gate retrigger on every new note, with that version of the Kenton firmware.
Just wondering if this glitch is something they all do, and if so if there's some way to get it repaired, or shall I call it a bust. I'd hate to have to get another Midi/CV converter just for this, as I already have two channels taken at the Kenton Pro2000, one being the Yamaha Oct/Hz variety.
