JX-3P: LFO delay isn't working with MIDI and Sequencer

I do not understand one thing with my JX-3P. Maybe it is a defect. Maybe it is a bug.

I programmed a simple tone with delayed LFO modulation to the VCF. Everything works fine whilst playing the keys manually. But the LFO delay isn't working when I play a note through Midi. The same happens when I use the internal sequencer. LFO modulation starts immediately without a delay.

Does anybody knows this issue? Is there a way to solve this without buying a midi expansion kit?

I don't own a JX-3p nor have any idea about the problem. But I will say that the midi implementation was apparently extremely primitive. NOTE ON/OFF ONLY.

I've noticed myself that this keyboard is a better sender than receiver when using midi. Some things just don't feel right when you try to modify the presets and control it from outside...

I don't think it's a defect, but a possible bug because of the way the synth was built and programmed: it has its limitations.

Thanks for your answers! But disregarding the midi interface, the missing delay occurs still even with the built-in step sequencer.

Yes, but that sequencer is pretty basic too: it might just work as on/off regardless of the enveloppe... Have you tried using it with a different sound, so see if it always react the same way? Or maybe your tempo is too quick?
